Line nos. 5 and 6 appeal more to the sense of _______.a. feeling b. sight c. tasted. touch
Rabbi Ben Ezra by: Robert Browning
Strive, and hold cheap the strain';
Learn, nor account the pang; dare, never grudge the throe.
These lines appeal more to the sense of feeling.
Explanation:
Lines 5 and 6 of the excerpt appeal more to the sense of feeling since the word strain is a type of injury in the muscles that is caused by overstretching. It is often a painful injury and pain or painful has something to do with feelings. Striving and holding cheap is an attitude that should be developed towards the strain caused by the rebuffs one is experiencing as stated by the author. He also suggests that the person should learn from the experience and may even record it but never hold any grudge towards the pang.
Reaction:
I would like to agree with the author that every rebuff of our lives should be faced as if nothing rough has ever happened. Even if a single joy might mean double or triple pain. We should strive to overcome the pain and increase our tolerance towards it. We should not be discouraged if things do not go as smooth as we expect them to be. We should remember that life is not only about ups and smooths; it also has downs and roughs.
